The Glazers’ Hall which stands proudly today is in fact not the original, instead the original stood on Fye Foot Lane, and however it was destroyed during the Great Fire of London in 1666.
After this disaster struck the City, Glazers’ Hall did not exist for 300 years – after this time had passed, it was then relocated.
The current home of Glazers’ Hall is connected to London Bridge and the so-called ‘Nancy Steps’ which were made famous by Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist.
Inside of this fantastic central London based venue are five magnificent rooms, all of which vary in sizes to accommodate and suit different types of events. Although its rooms all differ from each other, they are all decorated beautiful with stained glass, oak panelling and floor to ceiling arched windows. In addition to this, Glazers’ Hall has first-class views of the River Thames and the City skyline.
The largest room of them all inside of Glazers’ Hall is the Banqueting Hall – an impressive and flexible space ideal for a maximum number of 250 guests. It is fully equipped with audio-visual equipment, making it the perfect venue for conferences, dinners and parties. Its adjacent room – River Room – shows off the venue’s best views. The River Room can accommodate up to 200 standing guests.
In addition to the larger rooms, Glaziers’ Hall also offers smaller and more intimate rooms – these are called the London Bridge Room, the Court Room and the Library. The London Bridge Room can hold a maximum of 50 guests, whilst the Court Room and the Library have a larger capacity of 130 people.
The overall venue can accommodate 10 to 600 guests – each of the rooms can be used in conjunction with each other or they can be booked separately.
Sustainability is becoming more and more important within the team at Glaziers’ Hall – strategies have been implemented to evolve its sustainability. Strategies include the development of an Environmental Management System in partnership with Smart Green Business and Better Bankside.
