Venue Overview

The National Maritime Museum is the world’s largest maritime museum with 10 free galleries and a vast collection that spans artworks, maps and charts, memorabilia and thousands of other objects.

Located in the heart of the UNESCO world Heritage site at Greenwich, the National Maritime Museum’s five unique venues provide a tranquil and interesting setting for any event, whilst being only 20 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Neptune Court is the National Maritime Museum’s largest venue, spread across two levels and is available for hire for a wide range of corporate events. The event space, known as the Upper Deck, is a modern light space suitable for gala dinners, awards nights and large receptions, featuring a high glass domed ceiling. Guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks either on the Lower Deck surrounded by maritime exhibits or under the colonnades on a warm evening. The Lower Deck is also an ideal space for various events, particularly receptions and pre-dinner drinks, where guests can view varied Maritime themed exhibits.

The National Maritime Museum’s Neptune Court, Sammy Ofer Wing and Lecture Theatre offer a unique blend of old and new architecture, set within the heart of a UNESCO world heritage site. Being the world’s largest maritime museum, it’s filled with inspirational stories of exploration and endeavour at sea and packed to the gunwales with intriguing objects and fascinating galleries.

The Sammy Ofer Wing provides contemporary architectural surroundings for stand up receptions and features access to our special exhibition gallery when shows are scheduled.

The purpose built tiered Lecture Theatre is available for meetings and presentations and is utilised in conjunction with the Propeller Space for catering service.

Your travel to Greenwich can be easily enjoyable by both rail and river; it takes no time at all. The National Maritime Museum is just 20 minutes from central London by rail, or make the journey part of the fun and arrive by boat.
